WSDOT continues, in cooperation with FHWA, our implementation of the AASHTO Manual for the Assessment of Safety Hardware (or MASH). MASH is the new national standard for crash testing and design of new roadside barrier. With the MASH implementation schedule now complete, the Design Office has recently removed a number of standard plans that do not represent MASH compliant design, while new designs are in development and published over time. In the meantime, these plans can be viewed on the Plan Sheet Library, and may be incorporated into projects upon review and on a case by case basis.
The object detection and object orientation estimation benchmark consists of 7481 training images and 7518 test images, comprising a total of 80.256 labeled objects. All images are color and saved as png. For evaluation, we compute precision-recall curves for object detection and orientation-similarity-recall curves for joint object detection and orientation estimation. In the latter case not only the object 2D bounding box has to be located correctly, but also the orientation estimate in bird's eye view is evaluated. To rank the methods we compute average precision and average orientation similiarity. We require that all methods use the same parameter set for all test pairs. Our development kit provides details about the data format as well as MATLAB / C++ utility functions for reading and writing the label files.

I thought de stars in FSX a bit unreal compared to the real world stars and so, I wanted a little bit more real stars when flying in the night. I found AutoStar X on the internet forums and decided to try it myself. It works indeed! My computer runs with Win7 64 bit. Two things: I got an error report about a missing MVSVD50.DLL. The missing DLL can be downloaded via de Microsoft Support/download webpages. The second thing is, I had to run the program as an administrator, otherwise the program will not overwrite de Star.dat file in FSX (back up the original Star.dat file!)
